CUBIQ FOODS develops and produces fats that adapt to the needs of industrial customers who want to produce healthy foods.
The company was founded in December 2018. We have a team of more than 30 people and state-of-the-art facilities for innovation and food production across 4,000 m2, in Granollers (Spain). We have the financial support of international food investors, such as MOIRA CAPITAL and the international fund BLUE HORIZON VENTURES.
We completed our financing of 10 million euros in 2020, which allows us to develop the business until we generate profits in 2 years. We are developing a base of 100 customers in Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States. We expect to achieve sales of $6 million by 2021. We want to improve the nutritional profile of food and make omega-3 consumption more accessible.
These are our goals:
To replace animal fats or saturated vegetable oils with CUBIQ SMART FAT – reducing calorie content, total fats, saturated fats, improving the Nutri-Score level of the product, and maintaining the flavor and texture characteristics of the original product.
To incorporate omega-3 of algae oil into the daily diet of millions of people by using micro Omega-3, which provides the daily dose recommended by the medical community (250 mg DHA+EPA), in a serving without altering any original flavor.
To develop an alternative and sustainable production platform for omega-3 fatty acids, based on cultured cellular systems (cell-based Omega-3) which will be the best medium-term alternative to seaweed oil for nutraceutical and food applications.
